Fullerton Rugby Foundation's "Lady Lions" was the first High School Girls Rugby team in Southern California. Fullerton Rugby Foundation presently has girls teams in the U16 and U19 divisions. In additions, girls play co-ed rugby from 7 years to 12 years in the Junior Division. The U19 Lady Lions have reached the Southern California Championship finals since it started in 2004, until 2010, and were Southern California Champions in 2005, 2006, and 2009.
Practices are normally held twice a week in the night, and pre season practices are held on some Saturdays. The league season starts in Mid January and ends in early April, which is when the Southern California championship playoffs start. The All-Star season starts in May, when eligible players get nominated to play for the Southern California Griffin Girls U19 and U17 teams, and represent their region against teams from other states.
Registration for the Girls U19 team is $220 and registration for the Girls U16 team is $150. The registration fee covers your jersey, socks, accident insurance, referee fees, tournament entry fees, field and light fees (charged by the city), food & drinks after each home game, end of year banquet, and individual trophy.
