PARENTAL SUPPORT
There are two different ways in which volunteer/support works:
OPTION 1--PHYSICAL SUPPORT:
We have many games and two major tournaments planned for 2012. These games and
events require field set up / breaking down, snack shack help as well as hosts
to help serve all players a meal after their games. There will be a sign-up
sheet available to reserve your volunteer time on registration day. Or we can be
contacted through email at....
robinnua@gmail.com
or
fr.board.ericka@gmail.com
OPTION 2--FINANCIAL SUPPORT:
We know not everyone is available to volunteer their time, so we now have a
$50.00 “BUY OUT” option. This, too, is an excellent way to support our players.
There are many expenses involved beyond our registration fees that are needed
each year to make the season run smoothly. Here are just a few ways your “BUY
OUT” helps the season:
Rental of Port-O-Potty’s per game and several for tournaments.
Fees to cover venues for tournaments.
Fees for practice fields.
The list goes on...
REMEMBER: Fullerton Rugby Foundation is a volunteer organization and no one gets
paid. So lets all make this season a great one for our players!!
Please note that when a team is filled up, you will not be permitted to register.

FAQ
Where will the games be played, and when?
The home pitch for Fullerton Rugby Foundation is at Golden Hill Elementary School, 732 Barris Drive Fullerton. Players will travel to Orange County and LA County during the season for 'away' games. If the teams make it to the HS championships, they will travel again outside our area for the playoffs at the end of the season. Approximately 50% of our matches are played at our home pitch in Fullerton. Most games and tournaments will be on Saturdays.
Where can I check the schedule?
The schedule can be accessed by clicking the button on the left side of the Home page. It is constantly updated, and any changes to matches will be reflected there. The 2012 schedule will be posted online sometime in December.
My child has never played rugby before - is it hard to learn?
More than half the players that join have never played rugby before, and more than half that number have never seen rugby match before. The Fullerton Rugby coaching staff will teach the player everything he/she needs to know before the player actually plays against an opposing team.
When are the practices?
The U19, U16, and U14 teams practice twice a week under lights. The teams will also have pre-season practice on some Saturday mornings. The U12 and U10 will practice once a week at the home pitch.
What equipment do I need to bring for practice?
A mouth guard is mandatory for all players. You will not be allowed to practice or play in any match without a mouth guard. Cleats or rugby boots are required for all players. Shorts are required for all practices. Jeans, long pants, or jewelry is not permitted at practice for safety reasons. It is recommended that you purchase a few extra mouth guards, mould them, and keep it in your kit bag. Your jersey and socks may not be worn for practice until the season ends.
Why is it mandatory for at least one parent to volunteer?
Fullerton Rugby Foundation is a volunteer organization and no one gets paid. It is only with volunteers that we can get the logistical support to organize the seasons activities for the players. A parent/guardian has the choice of volunteering at least two days for the whole season or playing a more active role by volunteering for an official position in the organization. Whatever position you volunteer for, it is your child that benefits from the results.
What type of gear or safety equipment do I need?
A mouth guard is mandatory for all players. All players playing tackle rugby will have to purchase black RUGBY shorts with the FR logo embroidered, from the Equipment Manager. Scrum caps and shoulder pads are optional, and can be purchased on the internet.
Do you need Sponsors?
Sponsors and grants play a big role in our organization, and without them, we cannot survive. Our budgeted expenses were almost three times the amount that we take in from registration. As Fullerton Youth Rugby Foundation is a non-profit organization, your donation/sponsorship is deductible as permitted by law.
