Alex Svensson of Fullerton Youth Rugby Lady Lions was awarded the Southern California Rugby Football Union U19 Girls Most Valuable Player award at the Southern California Griffins Rugby Banquet tonight. Alex was a finalist for the award, along with 2 other players from Southern California, and is well remembered for her famous drop kick at the Southern California Girls U19 Cup Final this year, resulting in the FYR U19 Girls being 2009 Cup Champions.

Fullerton Youth Rugby Foundation is situated in the city of Fullerton, in Orange County, California. The foundation has players who are as young as seven years old, and as old as eighteen years. Co-ed Non-Contact is played by the Under-10 team. Full contact rugby is played by the Boys High School team, the Girls U-19 team, U-16, U-14 and U-12.
